Kendra + Nick

How did you meet?

We met when I was 17 and he was 18, working alongside each other at a local restaurant. We became husband and wife at the ages of 27 and 28 and now own a local BBQ restaurant ourselves- a decade together and a full circle moment.

When did you know they were the one?

Not long after meeting him. I knew from that point on that I simply couldn’t imagine going a day without him nor see myself growing old with anyone else.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His kindness. His heart. His passion.

Who proposed and how?

Nick proposed on the beach in our hometown. Over the course of our relationship we have made so many special memories on the water- some of my most favorite! One snowy winter morning he had asked if I wanted to walk our dog down to the beach (his parent’s live on the lake therefore we’ve spent a lot of time there) – after some question considering it was freezing, I agreed. Once walking to a point that overlooks all of Lake Huron, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! That beach specially holds a big part of our heart.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

When the Elsie was originally released back in 2021, I had seen the dress on Instagram and immediately fell in love. I sent it to my best friend and said how obsessed I was with the dress and that that was the one that I wanted to wear on my wedding day. A couple months later while dress shopping, Elsie was the third one I had tried on. Although already knowing in my heart that was the one I would be going home with. The most flattering, thought out, and all around gorgeous dress. The uniqueness of the bows especially sold me!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Nick and I eloped with just the two of us, our photographer, and officiant. Aside from marrying my best friend, the best moment of our wedding day for me was the intimacy. We woke up together, drank our morning coffee in our Airbnb’s hot tub overlooking the mountains, made breakfast, and just enjoyed each other’s company. We talked about our future as husband and wife. Our goals. Our dreams. It really set the vibe for our day!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Go with your gut and go all out. Today is YOUR day! Make decisions that make you happiest. Years down the road you want to remember the best day with no regrets and no what if’s. Focus on you and your partner’s vision, not everyone else’s!
