Kayla + Ryan

How did you meet?

Ryan and I went to the same high school. We never dated, but I always had a crush on him. After graduating and going away to college we ended up running into each other at a bar in our home town during summer break. We ended up talking and going on a couple of dates & the rest is history!

When did you know they were the one?

When I introduced Ryan to my family and he treated them like his own I knew he was the one!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His positivity and outlook in life. He makes me look at the glass half full rather than half empty.
I also love his sense of humor and how thoughtful he is.

Who proposed and how?

Ryan proposed on our vacation in Mexico. He surprised me with a private dinner on the beach! It was beautiful. There were flower petals as we walked toward the table and when we approach the table, Ryan got down on one knee and popped the question!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at a shop in Washington, DC called Lovely Bride. I knew I really loved all the dresses by Made with Love! I originally thought that I would say yes to their Louie dress, but as soon as I tried on Harlow I knew it was the one!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

My favorite moment was my first look with Ryan. His reaction when he saw me in my wedding dress is something I will never forget.

What were your favorite details?

The flowers, my make-up and hair, the Photo Booth & of course my wedding dress!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Take in every moment and don’t fret about the little things. Things are bound to go wrong! Having the mentality of “everything happens for a reason” saved me from stressing over small insignificant things and helped me take in the day as it came. The day goes by so fast! Soak it in!

Any standout vendors?

My Photographer, Andreea Russo, is the BEST! My wedding photos were everything AND MORE!
My Makeup Artist, Dani Gaudiosi, made me feel my absolute best. She went above and beyond to make sure my makeup was exactly what I wanted.
