How did you meet?

At our favourite place in the world – Waskesiu Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada

When did you know they were the one?

Looking back I don’t think I had one specific moment of thinking ‘he’s the one’. There are so many moments and memories I have with Liam that made me realize that I needed him in my life forever.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Patient, Generous, Kind

Who proposed and how?

He did! But of a background story – we met eachother 4 years prior in Waskesiu Lake and spent lots of time fishing, golfing, and enjoying outside activities. Our first kiss was while we were camping with friends at Shady Lake (within the National Park) and from there our relationship sparked! After we started dating Shady Lake became such a special place for the both of us, we continued our adventures of fishing and camping at the same lake. Tim August of 2020, we planned on canoeing into Shady Lake as it was our place to do some fishing! About an hour into fishing Liam suggested we pull over to the shore as he ‘needed to use the bathroom’ of course I wanted to keep fishing and didn’t understand why we needed to pull to shore to do that, when we got out of the canoe to told me he needed to talk to me, I was completely oblivious to what was going on. He told me how much he loved me and how although we have gone through difficult times, our good times far outweigh the bad (there is definitely more but of course I’m forgetting), he said I love you and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes after the initial shock of it all!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Funny story – prior to our engagement I was helping my girlfriend pick out a wedding dress! She told me about Made with Love and we started picking out ones for her to try as she was going to a trunk show in the neighbouring province and would have ample selection! I saw the Georgie online and fell in love immediately, which is when I suggested for her to try it on as it immediately caught my eye. Of course when she tried it on I told her it looked STUNNING on her and that I loved it but confessed that I actually would want it for my wedding dress one day so she couldn’t buy it (haha). She absolutely agreed and ended up with the River!!

Fast forward to after I got engaged, it was time to look for a dress! I immediately looked for any boutique that carried Made with Love as I knew I HAD to try on the Georgie! Eventually we went to The Bridal Boutique in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The Georgie was the third dress I tried on and I fell in love instantly! Once the veil was added I knew it had to be mine!! It was such a surreal experience and something I have dreamt of my entire life! I had my mom, cousin, and sister with me and it is a memory I will cherish forever!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Embrace every single moment from the second you get engaged until the day of your wedding. It goes by so fast so you really need to take the time to soak it all up!

Don’t sweat the small things, at the end of the day none of it matters, the most important thing is that you will be marrying the love of your life with all of your close friends and family there, that should mean more to you than anything else!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

I have a few moments that were incredibly special for me:

Before the wedding I went and got professional photos with my yiayia (grandmother in Greek), she wasn’t able to make it to our wedding due to medical reasons and she is a very special person to me. Although it wasn’t on my wedding day I am so grateful to have those photos to look back on and cherish forever.

Another great moment was putting my wedding dress on with my mom and older sister. To have that private moment with them and fully embrace all of the emotions was something I’ll never forget!

And of course – being able to celebrate one of the most important days of my life with the people I love most. This past year and a half has really shown us how precious time is and being able to have all of our loved ones in the same room together was beyond amazing.

Our videographer – Laura Woodward, she was so fun and really made our say so special. I’ve been lucky enough already to have seen some of the footage from the day and wow. Truly amazing. Can’t wait to see the rest!
Makeup Artist – Anh Pham, ah-mazing. She was so so so good, beyond talented and such a sweet girl. The kind of person you need around you on your wedding day. She kept me calm and relaxed, and of course beautiful!
