How did you meet?

Ryan and I met on a dating app and after a few weeks of conversing we decided to meet IRL at a trendy bar for some cocktails. I was nervous walking in and after I spotting him at the table that anxiety spiked even further, he was so handsome! We ended up having a great time and I eagerly texted him the following day to set up a second date.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Ryan was the one when we took a two-week trip to Europe a few months into our relationship. During the last leg of the trip we explored the most romantic city in the world, Paris. When the Eiffel Tower started to illuminate in its golden sparkle he told me he was falling in love with me. It was one of the most memorable moments of my life and I knew he was the one I wanted to share my life with.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His sense of humour and quick wit, his consideration and caring of others, and his love for our adorable golden retriever, Max.

Who proposed and how?

Ryan proposed on a weekend getaway to a chalet with all our friends. I was totally surprised! He got down on one knee on a dock and after I shrieked “Yes” he shut the box and wouldn’t let me try on the ring until we were on safe ground (the planks weren’t too sturdy and he was nervous of the ring falling through.) Afterwards we all celebrated with champagne in a nearby ski village and then the wedding planning began!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my MWL dress on Instagram reels. I had screenshot so many options during my pursuit for the perfect dress but I kept comparing them all to Archie. I happily found a bridal boutique in a nearby city that had it in stock. I brought my mom and my best friend to help me with the decision but I was already confident Archie was coming home with me. Once the bridal consultant added the veil and jewellery the look was complete. I added bows to the shoulders for the reception and it transformed Archie from a classic elegant silhouette to into a fun and whimsical dress ready to dance the night away!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment for me at our wedding was the surprise fireworks show. It really electrified the evening and the guests were amazed. It was a really special moment to thank our guests for travelling to Mexico to celebrate the next chapter of our lives.

What were your favourite details?

It’s hard to look past how absolutely stunning the ceremony was on the Pacific ocean. The arch of white roses, perfectly curated with the wood-toned chairs felt luxurious yet still graceful. The string-lighting and chandelier for our reception made the space twinkle with love and was the perfect backdrop for photos. The mariachi band for cocktail hour was a unique touch of entertainment and the harp player for our ceremony was also beautiful.

What advice would you tell other brides?

You have an incredible support system with you, if something goes array you can trust your family and closest friends to take care of it.

I loved having a breakfast with my fiancé the morning of the wedding. Although not traditional, it was a lovely way to start the day and spend quality time together before the big event.

Wear comfortable shoes.

Oh, and eat the cake! Time flies so make sure you grab a slice 😉
