How did you meet?

We met 8 years ago! I was asked on a date after a week of casual chatting and we really hit it off. I remember thinking how easy it was to talk to each other and I didn’t need to think about my answers or questions. Our first date was at a upscale Thai restaurant, he said ” Pick you up at 8, Id like to take you out!” and I thought that was so lovely.

When did you know they were the one?

During our first date, I was beyond nervous. Typically, I am confident and have been on a few dates in my time so there was no reason for me to feel nervous. But sitting across from him in this little restaurant, I had no appetite, my palms were sweaty and I don’t even remember what we spoke about! I had never felt these butterflies before and I knew this was different. We connected so well and had a lot of things in common. Similar upbringings and backgrounds, taste in music and food and shared similar hobbies.

Who proposed and how?

Every year we visit the Hunter Valley for our anniversary in August, but in 2021 he said there was nothing available in August and we should go in June. I thought nothing of it.
We went to a 3 hour long lunch, wined and dined for most of the day and then head to our little cottage. At the cottage, we were directly across a lake and I was sitting outside on a bench. He sat next to me and started to say lovely things to me, about us and our relationship. I honestly thought nothing of it, it was a romantic weekend. But sure enough, he slid off the bench and onto one knee in the most suave way. I saw him on his knee, box in hand and I burst into uncontrollable tears. I do not think I have ever cried so hard.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I knew Made with Love was the shop for me when I first saw it on Instagram. I saw the Harlow V2 dress in a photo and knew it was the one. My criteria for a dress was 1. Figure hugging and low back 2. I can dance sit and move in it.

I made a booking and took my bridesmaids with me. The way the dress hugs my body and the low back feature was just breathtaking. I cried when I saw it on! The dress looks and feels like a million dollars.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

My favourite moment was walking down the isle. Seeing my husband to be, misty eyed. I couldn’t wait to be his wife. My heart was so full. But lets not forget dancing the night away, non stop partying at the reception. I had the time of my life!!!!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Do not listen to the internet!!!! In modern day, every reel, tiktok and post tells brides what to do and what not to do! Just do whatever makes you happy, pick the theme you want and don’t stress yourself out. Remember why you are doing this, and the day will be perfect.

Any standout vendors?

Amy Hanneman Makeup – All I can say is WOW. She made me look and feel like a 90’s Victoria Secret model. She made my skin look airbrushed and glowy, absolute picture perfect. The best part is that she enhanced by features and I still looked like me. She is heaven sent and I loved working with her. She cares for all her brides and is so professional yet personable.

The Hunted Yard – I gave them a brief ” Lord of the Rings & Elvish Vibe” and boy did they deliver. Incredible team and so creative!!!! I absolutely loved working with them.
