Jessica + Zachary

How did you meet?

We are high school sweethearts! We first dated when we were in year 8, but as all things go when you’re in year 8, we ‘broke up’. We ended up in different friendships circles and didn’t really have anything to do with each other until we were in Year 11 and that’s when we started dating again. We have now been together for 11 years.

When did you know they were the one?

I don’t think I can put my finger on just one specific moment… I think it’s when you can no longer imagine life without them, when you think about different things in life and they are the one that’s beside you. I think it was when Zach became the first person I wanted to share anything or everything with!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Zach is the most thoughtful person I know. He knows me better than I know myself and knows exactly what I need before I even know sometimes! He wears his heart on his sleeve and isn’t afraid to love big. He is also very funny! (But don’t tell him I said that!)

Who proposed and how?

Zach proposed on our 8 year anniversary weekend, while we were doing a mystery picnic. At our final location, a winery, Zach got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife, and of course I said YES!!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I only went to one shop and tried on dresses- Made With Love Melbourne. I had originally gone to try on what I thought was my dream dress, but when I put it on, it wasn’t the one. I continued to try on a few more and as soon as I put on the ‘Ryder Crepe’, I just knew it was it. I hadn’t even seen it in the mirror yet, but the way it felt, I just knew. Then I saw it on in the mirror and I just fell in LOVE!!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Again, I don’t think there was just one moment! It was everything and everyone coming together to celebrate our love, it was just so perfect! But the dance floor was on fire that night too! Hahah!

What were your favourite details?

Our celebrant captured our story so perfectly, it’s like she had known us a million years! She really created such a beautiful ceremony. That coupled with the flowers. It was all so beautiful!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Take a moment to take it in! Take a moment to watch all your guests celebrating your love story and all your loved ones in one place. But also take a moment to just be with your partner. The day goes by so quickly and it’s easy to get caught up in things, so take a moment to just sit in the love you have for each other!
