Jenai + Aaron

How did you meet?

Working as a McDonalds manager at the ripe age of 18, the soon to be discovered love of my life came into the store to place an order and I immediately took notice of him. It wasn’t long before he was coming to McDonalds more often with his mates to see me and say hello, an exchange of social media profiles occurred and the chats began. We saw each other out one night and exchanged a kiss, followed by some dinner dates and well, the rest is history.

When did you know they were the one?

There wasn’t a specific time I knew Aaron was the one however there was plenty of times I knew that our love was truely going to make it. The way my friends and family immediately adored him, the way he made me feel loved and understood. It wasn’t like falling in love, it was like walking into a house and knowing your home.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His ability to put a smile on my face even in the worst of times. His ability to see the positive side of almost everything and his laugh that is quite literally contagious.

Who proposed and how?

Aaron proposed to me.
It was the night before his birthday and I was taking him to dinner. He had planned for family and friends to come over the following day for his birthday, little did I know it was also for the celebration of our engagement that was about to happen. Aaron had my father sneak into our house whilst out for dinner and set up my favourite flowers, candles and a bottle of champagne ready for me to walk into, him following me inside only to catch me by surprise and drop the knee, asking me “will you marry me” along with some other nervous and heart felt words. After almost 10 years together my obvious answer was YES!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Sydney – it wasn’t the dress I thought I was going to choose out of the few I had planned to try on, but the way my mum, sister and best friend shed happy tears and the inability to wipe the smile off my face and shake the feeling of butterflies in my stomach, whilst trying on Huxley Flowy, of course meant she was the dress for me!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The ceremony 100%
Walking down the aisle to see my now husband standing or should I say shaking with happy tears and a big ol’ grin he couldn’t wipe off his face is something I will never forget. His vows were incredible and not what I had expected for someone who gets scared to speak infront of a crowd. Sharing our love with all our friends and family and seeing their happiness and excitement for us both was truely an indescribable feeling. Our first dance was certainly high up there though with special moments!

What were your favourite details?

Oh my gosh so many things!
I’m simply obsessed with everything – The Carle Wedding.
Something special was the beautiful blue stone in the sole of my wedding heels to incorporate ‘something blue’ as well as the blue dress my mum wore who also walked me down the aisle with my father, the blue ribbons on my flower girls baskets and in the bridesmaids bouquets.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Do it your way and no other way!
Remember the day is about you and your partner and will be perfect however you envision it.
Ps. Time really does fly on your wedding day! Remember to take a step back with your partner for a few minutes to really appreciate how amazing it all is and all your hard work.
