Jemimah + Alex

How did you meet?

Alex and I met at university. I was in my first year of a degree and he was studying his Masters. I was sitting at the uni cafe, and he approached me asking if he could sit with me. Three years later we were engaged.

How did you know they were the one?

I knew Alex was the one when I realised that he was my best friend, and that I couldn’t imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else on this earth.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Integrity, generosity, and kindness.

Who proposed and how?

Alex proposed whilst we were living in Sydney during Covid. It was our three year anniversary. I came home from work that afternoon to fairy lights all throughout the house, and sunflowers. We had a candle lit dinner at home (due to Covid) before going for a late night drive to see the city lights from the harbour bridge. As we were walking by the water, Alex got down on one knee and proposed. When we got home he had organised his sisters to set up a beautiful champagne and cheese platter, and rose petals all throughout the house.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with ‘River’ at the St Ives store in Sydney. It was definitely not the style that I was initially looking for, but it was the team at the store that convinced me to just try it on and see. I instantly knew that it was the one.

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

Seeing Alex at the end of the alter.

What advice would you tell other brides?

My advice to other brides would be to just enjoy every moment. The day goes by so fast, so just enjoy every bit of it.
