Jayme + Jaedyn

How did you meet?

I met my handsome husband Jaedyn in High School (yep, sweethearts) in 2013. Jaedyn moved from a small country town to my high school in our final year but it took us nine months to even chat to eachother!

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Jaedyn was the one when he asked me what I got up to as a kid growing up in the suburbs. I responded “I dunno just went to the beach and the movies…what did you get up to growing up in the country?”. Jaedyn responded ‘Oh I just listened to Shania Twain on my walkman!”.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner

Jaedyn’s patience, his level-headedness (is that a word?) and his humour. Jaedyn keeps me grounded, calm and constantly makes me laugh.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I first fell in love with my dress on instagram! I was after something simple and elegant and I was so excited to try her on.

Who proposed and how?

Jaedyn proposed to me on our four year anniversary while we were traveling through Tropical North Queensland in a campervan. You know its love when you’re living in a van and haven’t showered in a few days and he still proposes! Jaedyn found a small beach north of Cairns and rolled out a picnic rug at sunset. A perfect low key proposal by the sea.

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

My favourite moment was when we’d just finished having our photos taken and headed back to our room to freshen up before our reception. We both sat on the bed, looked in eachother’s eyes and with the biggest grins said “ohhhhhh my gosh we’re actually married!!!”. We used that little pause in our whirlwind day to collect our thoughts, debrief on our ceremony and talk about what we were grateful for. We also scoffed down the canapes we missed while we were having photos

What surprised you most at or about your wedding?

My level of calm surprised me on my wedding day! The night before I was all nerves but on the day I was just completely going with the flow.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t try and please everyone else. You simply can’t!
