Janell + Simon
How did you meet?
At the hockey pitch!
How did you know he was the one?
When I realized that he saw and appreciated all the different pieces of me as they are; the driven, goofy, adventurous me.
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
Simon is open hearted, funny and intelligent – I love these things and everything else about him.
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
I fell in love with the dress at Pearl and Dot Bridal Boutique. As soon as I put it on I felt beautiful – it was just so stunning and totally my style. My dad was the first one to say that the dress was the one!
Who proposed and how?
Simon proposed to me at a favourite park overlooking the ocean after spending the day completing a scavenger hunt around the city of Victoria, BC. Simon does theses sort of romantic things for me all of the time so the scavenger hunt didn’t tip me off at all and when he passed me the last clue I was so surprised it took me a moment to realize what was happening.
What was the best moment for you at the wedding?
Simon’s eyes meeting mine as I walked down the aisle.
What surprised you most at or about your wedding
The bar tab haha.
What advice would you tell other brides?
Soak in each word, smile, hug and dance. The day just flies by way too fast!
What was the one thing you did differently for your wedding?
For dessert we served raspberry cheesecake brownies which had to be shipped across two provinces from Koko Patisserie. They are a favourite of mine and Simon had sent me a box of these early in our relationship when he was working to capture my heart.
