Jamie Lee+ Kevin

How did you meet?

We met our freshman year at the University of Connecticut. Kevin lived two floors up and we quickly became really good friends. We played walked to classes together, video games together until sunrise, and even did laundry together. It was pretty obvious we cared about each other deeply, but Kevin didn’t make his move romantically until we came back to campus our sophomore year. We held hands on the world’s tallest roller coaster and we’ve been together ever since.

When did you know they were the one?

My childhood dog passed away pretty suddenly our junior year of college. The way he was there for me and comforted me- I knew he was something special that I had to keep around.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Kevin’s got the biggest heart. His follow-through may not always the best, but his intentions are always pure and he always tries his best! He’s silly. We can joke and laugh about anything and often end up crying laughing about something ridiculous. I also admire his drive. Kevin’s constantly chasing the next opportunity at his job and trying to make the best decisions for our family.

Who proposed and how?

Kevin proposed after about 7 years of dating. We had moved across the country from New England to Colorado. One Saturday afternoon in September 2019 he basically begged to go on a hike in Breckenridge. He took me to one of the first hikes we ever did in Colorado, even before we moved there, and got down on a knee! Our corgi, Scooter, was there too and it was absolutely perfect.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I tried on many Made with Love dresses at a&be in Denver. I loved them all but kept wanting to go back to Tommy. The unique lace on the train, the beautifully fitted bodice, the plunging neckline and back- I knew she was my girl.

What advice would you tell other brides?

GET A VIDEOGRAPHER! We’re so thankful for ours and I’ve relived our day like 10000 times by rewatching our video over and over again. My other advice it to take a deep breath and enjoy the day as it is! I’m an elementary school teacher and pretty type A so I had planned every single little detail….and then it rained. Not exactly what I pictured but the rain ended up bringing a calm, serene feeling and it was still the most perfect day!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Our favourite moment was definitely the first look – it was amazing to get a blissful second to ourselves (and our corgi, Scooter!) before the whirlwind of a day
