How did you meet?

We were good friends when we were 16 and slowly drifted a part due to being on different paths. Josh is a home boy and knew exactly what he wanted in life, me not so much and I went off travelling & moved away for University.
11 years later we found each other again, I was sat in a bar in our local town and Josh came around the corner. I knew from that moment something was different. 2.5 years after that moment, Josh proposed and 11 months later, we married!

When did you know they were the one?

3 months after us dating I knew. I was heading back to university after Christmas and struggled to leave my home town, a feeling I never really had before.

Sadly my dad was also terminally ill and Josh went to see him, knowing there wasn’t much time left for him, to ask for my hand in marriage in preparation for his own plans. I didn’t know about this until months after and it just confirmed to me who Josh was and how kind, sensitive and family oriented he was.

I knew when Josh proposed, he’d had my dads blessing even though my dad had passed away the year before.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He is so positive, in every way.
He can make ANYONE smile/laugh in any moment, no matter what’s going on.
He is the most wonderful father to his daughter.

Who proposed and how?

Josh proposed to me in our home. We’d recently finished a full renovation of our house and for our first dinner at home he asked if he could cook and banished me from the kitchen. 2 hours later he came and got me and had made the room look so beautiful, our favourite champagne waiting on ice and he’d cooked a beautiful meal. It was such a romantic, intimate evening and after we’d eaten he was talking about our happiness and our future….then followed him getting down on one knee. It was perfect.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

In Cornwall, where I’m from. At St Ives Bridal Boutique!

I’d travelled to London and Exeter and visited other boutiques nearby but I just knew when I saw it, it was the one. It was so different to anything I’d ever seen, I wanted something simple but so unique and this was it! It felt like it was made for me.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

My mum walking me down the aisle and turning the corner and seeing Josh stood at the end!
Oh and the speeches!

What were your favourite details?

Everything! The dress, the bridesmaids, the guests, the flowers, the venue, the food, the band! All of it!
And the sun shone all day which was magical after weeks of rain!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Take it all in. Find moments to pause throughout the day and look at who’s around you, look at what you created. The day goes so quickly, just enjoy it all! Find moments for you and your new husband too, because you’ll be so busy saying hello to all your guests.
