Ilaria + Roman

How did you meet?

We met in the middle of no-where… literally. We met in Cuthbert, Georgia, the population is a little of 3,000. I was a sophomore at Andrew College playing soccer, and Roman was a freshman playing baseball.

When did you know they were the one?

From the moment I met Roman, I knew he was different. The first night we met in October of 2015, I knew he would be my forever. I was about to leave a party, and Roman would not let me walk back to my dorm room alone at night. From the night on we were inseparable- from living in two different states, to new jobs, to moving to Georgia together, to losing loved ones, to buying a house we have been each others hearts and souls. There is no one else I would rather experience life with.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

My three favorite attributes of Roman are- his kindness to everyone, his love for life, and when he scrunches his nose when he is tired.

Who proposed and how?

Roman proposed to me on the beach in front of my parents and sister. He knows how close I am to my family, and how much it meant for me for them to be there. He reached out to my mom and my sister and had the proposal planned out perfectly. There was a sign that said, “marry me?”, flowers, candles, and champagne. It meant the world to me.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I went to two different boutiques to try on wedding dresses. I felt so much pressure to find the “perfect dress” and look “perfect” on my wedding day. The first boutique I went to, I tried on multiple dresses, but nothing I put on felt like MY DRESS. My second appointment was at was at Ivory and Beau. From the moment I walked in, I felt an overwhelming feeling of happiness. I follow MWL on instagram and I saw Louie, I knew that was my dress. Holly at Ivory and Beau saved Louie for my last dress to try 0n. The moment I tried it on, I knew it was MY DRESS. Lots of tears and hugs were shared immediately after.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment was definitely my first look with Roman. I can not even describe what I felt prior to seeing my soon to be husband in my dream wedding dress. It took so much pressure off to see each other before the ceremony.

What were your favourite details?

I loved everything about my wedding! From the venue, to the flowers, to the wooden cross, it was everything I had dreamed of. I would say my favorite detail was being able to celebrate marrying the love of my life with our family and closest friends.

What advice would you tell other brides?

I would tell other brides to not stress about all the little things. Wedding planning should be a time full of joy and love. This day is for you and your partner not anyone else- So, do whatever makes YOU happy.
