Hayley + Jack

How did you meet?

We met at our first jobs as teenagers. He was the cute boy in the bakery department and I was the shy girl on the checkout. Fast forward 11 years and we are now married!!

How did you know they were the one?

I think I always new, we were friends for a long time before making things official. We just complete each other. I think the first time he said I love you I knew it was going to be forever.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He has the most beautiful caring soul, I’ve never met someone that is so kind and giving to those around him. He radiates so much kindness. He has such a positive outlook and is always so supportive. He is forever supporting my crazy ideas and is my number one cheerleader, I don’t know how I ever did life without him around as my number one fan. I have way more than three favourites but also his work ethic and driven nature inspires me to be better and aim higher.

Who proposed and how?

Jack proposed. He took me away for the weekend to Daylesford and had organised to go to the Cidery on the Saturday afternoon. The owners set up a cute table for us for dinner under the most beautiful tree and were ready with the camera when he got down on one knee. It was so perfect!

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

It’s so hard to choose one but getting to slip away from the formalities with my new husband was one of my favourites! It was so nice to get a minute to ourselves and really soak up the day just the two of us. It’s so surreal getting to say those words husband and wife to each other for the first time as a married couple.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I saw Carla on Instagram and instantly fell in love with her beautiful 3D lace. It wasn’t until I went to the Melbourne MWL boutique that I found out how perfect she really was.

What were your favourite details?

My dress was the stand out of the day and I received so many compliments. When my husband saw me for the first time he said he hadn’t pictured me wearing something like that but it was more perfect than he ever could’ve imagined. People are still telling me how much they loved my dress! Is it socially acceptable to wear her all the time?! Hahaha

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t sweat the minor details, everything will work out and be perfect on the day. We postponed from November to February because of COVID-19. In February we got put in a five day lockdown in Melbourne with the lockdown ending just hours before our big day. It couldn’t have worked out any better!

Any standout vendors?

All of them!! I cannot fault any of the amazing people we had in our team. They were fantastic with moving dates because of COVID and kept me sane during all the stress of wedding planning, especially in a pandemic. They were all amazing on the day.
