Hannah + Nick

How did you meet?

We met in a covid testing line at a course to begin our future career paths. Nick approached me looking for a friend amongst the sea lf new people thay surrounded us and it all began from there.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Nick was my forever about 2 months in when I caught the sides of my mouth smirking at any thought or sight of him.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His generous and kind heart.
His calm nature.
His ability to be a family man and the strong love he shows for his family.

Who proposed and how?

Nick proposed on a beautiful February evening at cabbage tree lookout in the blue mountains. A quiet sunset picnic was promised and little did I know that it wasn’t going to be the picnics we had experienced before. Maybe the fact he was running through Coles to ensure we collected groceries and arrived to the spot in time for sunset should have been a give away but I had no clue I would walk away a fiance. Just as the sun turned a vibrant pink and Orange, we played our favourite music and I said “this was a great idea”. I turned around as the pause seemed too long and Nick, down on one knee said ” I’ve got a better one”. The best moment of my life.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with the intricate Valley in the stunning showroom in St Ives, Sydney. I had been eyeing off Valley since glimpses were shared on instagram and I knew she would be my perfect fit. I, like every bride tried on a few just to compare but my heart kept coming back to Valley. The stunning simplicity of Valley and the plunging low back were the perfect combination of sleek and fun that I just knew I couldn’t look past.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

My favourite moment was having 5 minutes to my husband and I where we were running ahead of time (stop it… ahead of time crazy right!). We shared a few minutes to ourselves surrounded by the greenery and landscape of the Southern highlands before emerging and taking in a view of our guests at cocktail hour, laughing and mingling. My husband and I both agree this was a love filled moment that was beautiful to experience together.

What were your favourite details?

I loved the landscape and gardens of the Bendooley Estate Stables. I adored the pure ivory colouring of the Valley gown and Holly veil and how these complimented the vast green paddocks and wooden backdrop of the Stables barn doors.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Just breathe and enjoy the day. Everyone shares SO much love for you and your partner. Take it all in as it truly is a beautiful day that passes so quickly. You’ve done all the planning, now is the time to soak it all up.
