Hailey + Adam

How did you meet?

Adam and I have mutual friends. And we had a series of run-ins and multiple phone number exchanges over the course of 2 years with neither of us having the courage to ask the other one out . We finally connected again at a Halloween party in 2017, where Adam had just enough liquid courage to finally ask me out. We went for tacos on our first date and have been together ever since.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Adam was the one on our first date when he planned our second date before the first one even started. I had told him that I missed playing bar bingo, I had recently moved from NYC. In NYC I played bar bingo every Tuesday with friends. Adam found one bar in Cincinnati that was doing bar bingo that I didn’t know about and planned our second date for there!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His sense of humor, he makes me laugh every day. He is a great listener and supporter, and his drive to be a good person and so the right thing and be thoughtful of everyone especially his family.

Who proposed and how?

Adam proposed on a Saturday morning walk. He held the ring in his pocket for 4 miles before he got down on one knee with the Cincinnati skyline and Ohio river in the background. Back at our apartment outdoor common area his family had set up a brunch with my favorite foods and both of our families were there to celebrate!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at Hyde Park Bridal in Cincinnati, OH. My wedding was planned for July, and when I put on the Elsie I said to my mom and sister I feel like a summer bride in this one. The dress fit my perfectly and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I had to try on like 40 more dresses before I finally realized I had already put on the perfect dress and went back to Hyde Park Bridal and bought it!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment was when we were introduced at our reception as Mr and Mrs Dietz. We had a big wedding so it was the first time I saw how big it was. And I was blown away by the feeling of all our loved ones in the same space at the same time to celebrate us!

What were your favourite details?

My dress was my favorite part of my look! But I also received a Pearl bracelet from my aunts. All the women of my family have received a Pearl bracelet on their wedding day. It’s a beautiful tradition that’s been going on for 3 generations now. My mom preserved her wedding veil from her wedding and it looked great with my dress so I got her veil altered and wore it with my dress.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t stress the small details, it’s the people who are there that matter the most.

Any standout vendors?

My wedding venue was absolutely gorgeous and the staff there was incredible! I’ve never seen a spilled drink get cleaned up so quickly on a dance floor at a wedding before. The venue is the Monastery Event Center in Cincinnati, OH. It has a 2 year waitlist and it is worth it.
