Emma + Clinton

How did you meet?

We look back and can’t believe we didn’t meet before we did. Our best friends (at the time) are siblings.

When did you know they were the one?

He was sure the first time he met me. His truck was fast, and it needed a pilot from a party, that was me. He knew when I put it to the floor and I was sure a little later in the summer.
We are farm kids, and a gentle August rain is a blessing. The summer we started dating was harsh and dry but, in late August there was a perfect gentle rain, we sat on my parent’s front porch and watched it rain for hours. I would have married him in that moment if someone had asked.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He is generous, ambitious, and a storyteller.

Who proposed and how?

He did… but, he had planned to do it as part of our everyday life. Unfortunately, we had an extremely hard year and every time he planned to ask something went wrong. And not just a little off the rails. But he took me out to my favourite restaurant for my birthday and when we got home and comfy he asked. It ended up being exactly what we both needed. And it was so fun to tell my family. Then his family, and our friends.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Well my now husband doesn’t get in a rush, so when I saw the dress on Pinterest and I thought he was going to propose I knew I was going to have to order direct from Australia… but as it turns out Archie is popular, I waited forever so I was able to try the beauty on.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Our entire day was perfect so that is hard. But after I was handed off by my father there was a moment before the ceremony started and it felt like it was just me and Clinton.

What were your favourite details?

Oh man, the veil was a moment!

What advice would you tell other brides?

“Listen to yourself”.i loved the first dress I tried on but when I said to my mom I’m. “going back to ‘the panic room’, to try the next dress on it was obvious I would not be able to manage a bunch of dress styles. I fell in love with my veil first. And that intuition left my groom calling me a “smoke show” come
