Emily + Kevin

How did you meet?

Kevin and I met the beginning of our freshman year in college, at the State University of New York at Cortland. We are both from Long Island, New York, growing up 30 minutes away from each other, but we ended up meeting five hours away from home at college. Kevin and I lived two dorm rooms down from one another in our freshman dorm building, Fitzgerald Hall.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Kevin was the one when I realized my heart would always be safe with him. We used to walk through our college’s town, just talking and walking as if we were the only ones around.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner

His sense of humor and ability to make me smile at any given time, his ability to show me love in every way, both big and small, and his protectiveness over me (and others as a NYC police officer).

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with Sienna when I was searching the internet one day when we still lived in our first apartment. I had a vision in my mind of the unique, subtle, and elegant dress I wanted, but hadn’t been able to find it at the two other wedding dress salons I went to. Then I stumbled across MWL’s website and couldn’t get my mind off of Sienna. I knew I had to try her on, and when I did, I fell completely in love with her!

Who proposed and how?

Kevin proposed on a bluff in Montauk at the very end of Long Island. I was standing out on the bluff, looking at the endless beauty of the Atlantic Ocean. I turned around and Kevin was on one knee. He had our families surprise us at our favorite brewery, Montauk Brewery, when we went to get a celebratory drink afterwards.

Where did you go to Honeymoon?

Our honeymoon was in Antigua at Cocobay Resort. Hands down the best trip we will ever go on. Already planning to go back to the same private waterfront cottage for our five year anniversary.
