Emily + Dominic

How did you meet?

Me and Dominic met in 8th-grade Spanish class and became best friends immediately. Since that day, 15 years ago we’ve not only become best friends but eve when our timing was right 10 years later, we realized we were always soulmates. 5 and a half years later, we are finally husband and wife!!!

When did you know they were the one?

I knew he was the one when all he did was make me laugh. 15 years later, a full friendship and now a relationship, the laughing hasn’t stopped. I knew he was the one when I didn’t have to be someone else, I could be myself and he loved that.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He is hardworking, caring & selfless.

Who proposed and how?

He proposed on our first vacation post covid when we were in Boulder, Colorado. He didn’t really have a plan, just waiting for the right moment. We were getting ready to leave for dinner and he wanted to take pictures on his go pro because the backyard of our Airbnb was gorgeous and it was golden hour. He tricked me, put a video on the go pro, and proposed at that moment and it was perfect!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I saw my dress when I was starting to create my vision board on Pinterest. I live in Connecticut so it was hard to find that dress in a local boutique near me – I called a few places and only 2 in CT had Elsie. I knew I wanted it to be my dress from seeing the pictures. When we went to try on at White Dress by the Shore, I saved it for last to make sure she was it and she was. I then paired it with the Elle veil and it was perfect.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Taking a moment to look around at everyone who showed up for us and celebrating our love with everyone who we love most.

What were your favorite details?

I DIY’d all my signage myself so walking in and seeing all the attention I dedicated to all my signage was extremely rewarding.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Everyone tells you that the day flies by but honestly I felt like it was the longest day with a lot of moments of anticipation. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. My best advice is to have your day be just that – long. Take in every moment and be present.
