Emily + Tony

How did you meet?

Tony and I met while travelling after university. We had mutual friends that brought us together in Bondi Beach Australia.. we were 22! I don’t even think we had a first date, but I knew then and there Tony understood me and life was going to be really fun with him. We’ve been together for 10 years, two dogs, and too many incredible memories to count! I couldn’t imagine my life without anyone else.

When did you know they were the one?

Tony and I knew pretty quickly into our relationship that we were in this for the long run. Tonys always let me be me.. we never held each other back from being who we needed to be in that particular stage of our lives and we never felt like we missed out on anything in our 20s. We love to travel, party, dance.. we love being with our friends. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. 10 years later he still gives me butterflies

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Tonys really driven, he never gives up on any commitment
Tonys extremely loyal to those he loves
Tony loves dogs..

Who proposed and how?

Tony and I took a trip to Italy, Amalfi coast in summer of 2019. I had a feeling he might propose.. but didn’t want to get my hopes us. The day we landed, we bar hopped around Rome, drank a ton of Aperol Spritz.. and more than enough pasta and pizza. It was perfect. We took a walk in the park after dinner with a couple Perroni’s.. he got on one knee and said he wanted to do this kinda stuff forever! I cried.. said yes and here we are! Tony organized my two best friends and their husbands to meet us in Capri.. we had the best night celebrating. I will never forget that trip!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I’ve been following Australian dress labels forever and came across MWl.. when I saw the Lottie V2 I instantly fell in love and HAD to find a retailer in Montreal, Canada that carried it. The Lottie V2 is soooo classic.. but also romantic and sexy. Wearing it made me feel all those things!

It really helped that my experience at Dressscoop with owner Lucy was so positive. She’s so lovely and really makes you feel comfortable and beautiful from the start.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Enjoy the day, don’t sweat the small stuff. laugh at the things that goes wrong, bring comfy shoes and DANCE your entire night away with your friends and family.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Looking around and seeing all the people I love in one room. Our friends and family is what connected Tony and I.. it’s not just Tony and I but our entire group that makes us so special.

My best friends (bridal party) are spread out across the globe, from Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, England and Spain. They all came in to celebrate me and Tony and give us the best night of our lives.
