How did you meet?
We met playing pickup volleyball at our local church.
When did you know they were the one?
It wasn’t one big moment; it was the little moments added together… the way he treats my nephew, the love and care he has for his family, seeing him love my dog (that he is allergic to!), and when our hiking trips would have unplanned events (e.g., we’d come across a problem/challenge), we’d laugh and work together to figure out a solution.
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
His patience, optimism, humility, and love of life!
Who proposed and how?Â
He proposed while we were en-route to a backpacking trip in North Dakota (USA) by making an unexpected stop in a city that means a lot to us; we were walking along the water (on a trail) and he got down on one knee to propose.
What was the best moment for you at the wedding?
Walking out of the church, down the aisle, hand in hand with big smiles on our faces!
What advice would you tell other brides?
Don’t get so lost in the small details / logistics that you don’t have fun – remember that the greatest part of your wedding is getting married to your person.
