How did you meet?

We worked together at the same school about 9 years ago. We were friends at first (I had a huge crush!) but then we got together after I left to do my teaching degree.

When did you know they were the one?

About 4 months into our relationship, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. It just felt right.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Funny, always makes me and everyone laugh.

Who proposed and how?

Ross proposed. We were in Malawi where I grew up right next to the lake- my favourite place. He asked me to take a photo of the lake as it has just rained and was still and stunning. I got onto a random log to take a pano and as I was taking it he got down on one knee and asked me then. I was in shock!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

It was Covid times so I could only take one person to my appointment so I took my Maid of Honour who is also my sister in law. I had picked out a few dresses before my appointment at the London MWL store and tried a few on which were amazing but didn’t feel like ‘the one.’ When my MOH pointed out the beautiful Penny, I thought, why not?! As soon as I put it on, I knew this was it, I felt like a bride and loved it!

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

We had to change lots of things including our original plan of a Cape Town wedding pre Covid. In the end we realised what the most important thing was, to get married with all our family and best friends in the same room. I had my family from all over (Malawi, Aus, SA) after 2.5 years a part. To have everyone that you love in one room celebrating your love is the most amazing feeling.

What were your favourite details?

The dress- the detailed 3D lace, the beautiful back and shape that it gave. I’ve never felt so good!

The attention to detail that our best friend had done with lighting up the room, it sounds silly but the whole thing looked epic!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t sweat the small stuff, no one remembers how amazing how your name tags look or whether they had a menu matching the decor. The day goes by so quickly and it feels like a dream after, try to take it all in as much as you can. Spend time together, a top table just for the two of you is great!

Any standout vendors?

Iris and blue flowers- Jenny is fab! She makes you feel really chilled and has great ideas!
Emma Mc Greevy Make up- Emma is amazing, she also makes you feel really chilled and like you are best friends.
Katya Valentina Hair- Katya is a genius with hair, you HAVE to have her!
