Daria + Alex

How did you meet?

Alex and I met on Tinder almost 9 years ago and we’ve been inseparable ever since.

When did you know they were the one?

There was just something about him that made me say “yes” when he asked me out. I was extremely cautious on Tinder and NEVER ONCE met anyone from the app except for Alex.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His sense of humor, affection, and optimism.

Who proposed and how?

Alex has been messing with me for a few weeks before the actual proposal. One afternoon when I was taking a nap, I rolled over on what I thought was a dog toy (they are everywhere in the house) but ended up being a jewelry box. I got extremely nervous but turned out he got me a pair of earrings. Fast forward to July 2nd, I was getting ready to go to bed, and Alex pulled out the same box. I told him it’s not really funny anymore but opened it anyway only to find a Ring Pop in it. I got slightly more frustrated and told him to turn off the light on the way out as I was going to sleep. Before he left, he checked with me: “You would’ve said ‘no’ anyway if I proposed at home, right?” I assured him I was ready to say “yes” when I saw the box with earrings. A few minutes later he came back and said: “I bet you think I can’t trick you twice in one night.” Once again I expressed my frustration and asked to turn off the light. He lied down in bed and slowly moved the ring in front of me. I was S.H.O.C.K.E.D. I had no clue he purchased the ring as he kept browsing jewelry websites days before. The proposal was intimate and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress on Instagram. I saved it because I knew it was the perfect dress for me, and sure enough, it was. Huxley was the first dress I tried on at Bella Lilly Bridal in Phoenix, AZ, and I knew it was the one. Other dresses just didn’t compare.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

My favorite moment was getting to see Alex during our first look.

What were your favourite details?

My favorite detail was a picture of my grandma and my grandpa on my bouquet. My grandma passed away on March 12 of 2022, and she didn’t get a chance to see our wedding or even learn about our engagement. But by having her picture on the bouquet, it was almost like having her walk me down the aisle.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Your wedding might not be perfect, it might rain, or your musician might send someone else as their replacement, but don’t let any of it ruin your day! Enjoy the time with your spouse, friends, and family. Oh, and don’t skimp on a photographer.

Any standout vendors?

I am still absolutely in awe of my wedding planner – Satin and Slate Weddings. She just started her business, and she handled everything so perfectly.
