How did you meet?

Long time college friends turned lovers! Our sorority and fraternity were very close friends in college, including the two of us. We spent years together as friends and then on our final spring break of college love sparked! Together 7 years through 3 states and 6 moves, a puppy, engagement, house, and wedding, the rest is history!

When did you know they were the one?

We were always very flirtatious friends, the two most outgoing in our groups. We first knew we were interested when we went to a concert with friends – we danced together to Doses and Mimosas at the Cherub concert!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Ambitious, loyal, and persistent. Has been through tough times and hasn’t been dealt the easiest of cards but is one of the most successful and humble individuals I know.

Who proposed and how?

He did! In Milwaukee on the lakefront, directly across the lake from our favorite spot in Michigan. Which is the beach he first asked me to be his official girlfriend on. I was completely shocked, he had all of our family and friends there and planned a huge engagement party at our house following!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

It was the first dress I tried on – completely not what I expected! I was at Bella Bleu Bridal in Winnetka, IL. I knew I wanted a MWL dress, just not sure which one – this is why I went to Bella Bleu. I originally thought lace, but couldn’t pass up the detail of the low back with the cowl and the buttons down the back – absolute PERFECTION and so timeless.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

We got married in the rainforest in Puerto Rico. That said, rain was expected but I didn’t expect to love it so much. I am torn – when I walked down the aisle there was slight rain with a rainbow at the end of the aisle. Or, the last song of the night it downpoured on our dance floor and we danced in the middle of our loved ones, absolutely incredible!

What were your favourite details?

All of our stationary matched – from our invites, to the place cards, to the welcome bag letters. I love small details and consistency. They were all simple and clean (just like my dress!)

What advice would you tell other brides?

ENJOY EVERY SECOND! My only regret was the stress I had the week leading up to the wedding. I wish I would have taken it all in and just trusted the process. Looking back I wish I would have soaked it all in stress and all – it goes WAY TOO FAST.

Any standout vendors?

Our wedding planner was INCREDIBLE. Alexa Blanco Weddings in Puerto Rico. We trusted all of her vendor recommendations and wouldn’t have changed a thing. Our venue is also a dream come true – Hacienda Siesta Alegre – an absolute fairytale.
