Danielle + Ryan

How did you meet?

Met through mutual friends, who were trying to set us up from the very start, friends for 5 years before we got together!

When did you know they were the one?

He was always the one, even the 5 years before we were together i knew, it just came down to timing, and when the timing was right it all happened – also a wild night out in Queenstown with 20 of our nearest and dearest on a snow trip adventure also helped!!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Kind, thoughtful, generous soul

Who proposed and how?

Ryan proposed while we were holidaying in Noosa, a little white beach hut thing set up on a quiet beach was waiting for us with pillows and throws and a cheese platter – IT. WAS. EVERYTHING.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I tried on the Riley Luxe the first time i went shopping on once on the central coast, but you see, I’m the kinda gal that searches far and wide. I shopped in Newcastle (hometown), Central coast, Sydney, then mum and i thought heck lets have a Byron day and do some more wedding dress shopping while we are there. We ended up at the Made with Love store in the GC and i re-tried Riley back on and sheeeesh! I probably should have just bought it way back when, but we had lots of fun in the process so i wouldn’t have it any other way.
It was the wings for me!!!

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

Our first look – to take the nerves away and break all the rules to hang out a little before the ceremony. But before our first look i sent my brother in, in my mums wedding dress (hehehehe), Ryan was expecting me but got my bro first – just for a little stitch up – because it wouldn’t be our wedding if i wasn’t stitching Ryan up 🙂

What were your favourite details?

First look – a must!
Celebrant that breaks at the rules – crucial!! We wrote each other’s wedding vows – IT WAS THE BEST
I had a ‘lucky dip’ wedding design where i provided 20 pins on Pinterest of things i ‘liked’ and they used that to set up the whole decor/vibe of the day and it was a total surprise – it was great – took all the stress out of it and they did incredible!!!
The dance floor, we ended up with a fun first dance (pic attached – he didn’t drop me phew!) and this just set the scene for the dance floor party – holy heck it was innnnsane! amazing! everything we wanted! (we love dancing). Post Covid wedding really goes off with a bang, and although we had to post pone and it was so disheartening and an actual nightmare, i would have it that was again in a heart beat, made it all the more special!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Sleep in! I woke up at 830 feeling fresh
Outsource outsource outsource, do as little as you can enjoy the few days before being pampered and catch up with as many family and friends for pre celebrations as possible as its hard to mingle on the day/night with everyone.
Recovery brunch – essential!!! Brings back all the feels, lots of reminiscing and LOLs, don’t let the celebrations end!!

Any standout vendors?

Our celebrant – boy was she funny, and encouraged us to break all the rules – it was the perfect non-traditional ceremony and was perfectly us. Everyone was in stitches and are still talking about her being the best celebrant they’ve ever seen. @Hungryheartsco
