How did you meet?

We met in a bar (Wetherspoons) in Glasgow, I was out for my birthday and he (Paul) was on a work night out. I seen him straight away with his white skinny jeans on and slit back hair and knew I had to know him. I asked one of his work friends to introduce us and the rest is history.

When did you know they were the one?

That night in Wetherspoons, the conversation was flowing and his rubbish jokes clearly worked.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

How he makes me laugh every single day even when I don’t feel like it.
How much of an amazing dad he is to our beautiful son Tommy.
He’s my best friend, soul mate and husband all wrapped into one, literally the male version of myself.

Who proposed and how?

Paul proposed to me on a catamaran in Tenerife, he told me to stand on the boat and look out to the pod of dolphins that were swimming past so he could take a picture of me, I felt like he was taking forever so I turned back around to see what he was doing and there he was, down on one knee with the biggest cheesiest grin on his face.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

II actually fell in love with the Archie dress when looking through Pinterest. Living in Scotland, UK there weren’t many boutiques near buy that stocked MWL so I had planned to travel to Newcastle to try dresses on, I then came across Unbridled, a boutique in Ayr that stocked them which was only 40 minutes away from where I lived, I made an appointment straight away. It was always Archie that I absolutely LOVED but felt my body shape wouldn’t suit it as I’ve always been curvy. So the dress I thought I’d end up saying yes to was “Louie flowy.” This was the first one I wanted to try on once we’d arrived at the wedding boutique but I just didn’t get “that feeling” when I had it on, after trying on around 5 gowns the consultant brought over Archie and I tried her on, I knew as soon as it was on that that was THE dress! I walked out and myself, mum and maid of honour all burst our crying which confirmed that was the dress for me. I fell pregnant shortly after picking my dress so the postpartum “mum tum” was definitely on show in the figure hugging dress but I wouldn’t have had it any other way and absolutely loved having our beautiful son there with us on our special day!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

We got married in Lindos, Rhodes, Greece, we had always dreamed of a destination wedding! The full day was absolutely perfect from start to finish. I absolutely loved our first dance with the floor fireworks, that was a special part of the day I will never forget but I think the best part was when myself and my new husband went away just the two of us and got our pictures taken in the beautiful Lindos village. It was so nice just having that time alone to talk about the fact we had just gotten MARRIED!!

My veil flew off during our photoshoot and stuck to the side of designer Jasper Conrans villa, it was too high up and we couldn’t get it back, even with the photographers and villagers out with fishing rods trying to get it. I had messaged Jasper on Instagram to see if it had blown off and landed in his courtyard and he very kindly got back to me but unfortunately the veil was never found. That wasn’t the best moment of the day but it’s certainly a moment I’ll never forget and a funny story for the grandkids.

What were your favourite details?

The fire works at the first dance, the musicians we had chosen to play throughout the day (violinist and saxophonist), the whole day was just perfect and everyone absolutely loved my dress. The low back, how classy it looked, everything.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t stress. And take a minute to just take everything in. It’s over so fast so do NOT spend a minute worrying about little details that some guests don’t even notice.

Our amazing wedding planner Karen Harvey and her team at Lindos Weddings, we literally didn’t have to worry about a thing leading up to the wedding or on the wedding day. Our amazing photographer that captured every little detail.
