How did you meet?

We met in 2012 and I knew he was the one immediately. We were both working at a restaurant in Northern Virginia and during our first conversation I felt that I had known him my whole life, and a 1000 lifetimes before that. My favorite things about him are that he can always make me laugh, he’s the best dad to our 2 dogs and 2 cats and he knows what he wants and goes after it!

Who proposed and how?

We had always said we weren’t going to get married. We knew our love was forever, and didn’t need to solidify it in that way. BUT, in 2016 we hiked to the top of Mt. Washington and he proposed! He was calm the whole hike up, I had no idea what was coming!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress the same way I fell in love with my husband – it was immediate and I knew it was the one. I found it on Pinterest, tracked it down to an adorable boutique in Vermont – Everthine Bridal – and made the appointment to try it on! My mom and my maid of honor came with me. My MOH started playing the song I was planning on walking down the aisle to when I had the dress on; it was perfect!

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

The best moment at our wedding was obviously saying I do in front of our friends and family! I’m from Vermont and this little state means the world to me, so we tried our hardest to have all local items if possible. My husband is a brewer at a local brewery and he brewed a beer for our wedding. Our flowers were done by a local woman that grew hops for us, and she also did the flowers for my parents wedding many years ago – it was perfect! My bridal jewelry was designed by a woman I went to high school with, and our photographer was the sister of someone I went to high school with. A friend of ours painted a hop plant for people to sign as our guest book and my maid of honors sister made cornhole boards. A local, beer themed wedding for the ages!
