Charlotte + Sam

How did you meet?

Classic workplace stalker vibes – I had seen my now-husband around and just had to find out who he was. I knew he worked in IT at work so I thought I would intentionally break my computer so I’d have to talk to him! One thing leads to another and I gave my number to his colleague to give to him. That night he texts me and the next day we had our first date. The rest is history!

How did you know they were the one?

When having to wait until the weekends to hang out with one another was too long to wait. I just wanted to be with him all the time!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

That he has got the most gentle soul, he is able to bring me back down to earth when I need it most and there are not many people that can do that and he is the greatest, most loving dad to our baby girl.

Who proposed and how?

Sam proposed to me in October last year. He had booked a surprise weekend getaway in Daylesford in a gorgeous secluded Airbnb. We were sitting in front of a beautiful open fire with a glass of red wine in hand when he pulled out a box and asked me to marry him. It was magical.

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

Walking down the aisle to my husband. Seeing him so emotional and vulnerable as I walked towards him in my beautiful dress and being surrounded by all of our loved ones. Unfortunately, my parents have both passed away so I was devastated my Dad couldn’t walk me down the aisle but as I begin to walk towards my husband the sun just beamed through the clouds and I am certain it was my Mum and Dad watching on. I have tears just thinking about it.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at the Melbourne MWL boutique back in January this year. The moment I put Ryder on it was everything and more I had always imagined in the wedding dress I would wear. I’ve never felt so beautiful, feminine and just like a goddess. I’m so grateful I had the honour of wearing her!

What were your favourite details?

All of it! The beading and cut on Ryder in particular and just how she fitted my figure so perfectly. She made me feel confident in my post-baby body. I just adore her.

What advice would you tell other brides?

To just take in every second of your special day because it is gone before your eyes. Be confident in yourself and own you and everything you are – this is your day to shine!
