How did you meet?

I met my soulmate John at a 4th of July party in 2015 and continued to bump into eachother until I told him to ask for my number so that we can meet up on purpose.

When did you know they were the one?

We both knew that there was something different about this relationship a week in. When people say, “you know when you meet the one,” it’s true!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

My husband is calm, cool, and silly. He makes me feel so at ease and safe. He pushes me to want more and be better. He is the calm to my storm.

Who proposed and how?

He proposed on my 30th birthday in Zagreb, Croatia. He proposed in front of a famous church in the city center. It was the first place we traveled to together in 2016 and it was so cute for him to do it in 2022. I told him to shut up when he got down on one knee! Lol!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

A friend of mine recommended Love & Lace Bridal in the OC area. She said that the team there is amazing and so supportive of plus sized brides. Especially when I said I wanted a fitted dress for my winter wedding. I fell head over heals for my Harlow gown and matching veil. The lace reminded me of winter trees and vining flowers. The straps looked like they were covered in hearts. All my husband good say on the day was that I looked absolutely perfect. It enhanced the natural me and he loved it. Lol Especially the booty.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

We did a first look and that was the best part for us. A private moment to ourselves and it helped us feel SO confident walking down the aisle in front of our friends and family.

What were your favorite details?

About the dress? Everything! The way it fit me and made me feel like an absolute goddess.
About the day? How we were able to just enjoy every detail and see everyone celebrate us. Seeing everything come together just they way I wanted it to. The flowers and the decor was so perfect in our venue.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Trust your gut, and fight for what you want on your day. Also, remember that only you will notice the little details so if the napkin rings aren’t the ones you ordered, don’t fret because only you know that detail.
