Brooke + Anthony

How did you meet?

My now husband and I met on December 26th 2012 through one of my best friends, he is her cousin! We instantly hit it off!

When did you know they were the one?

Our third date! Anthony came over to watch a movie, after the movie finished it was about 10pm, we sat talking on the couch and the next thing we knew it was 6am! Neither of us could believe it, we completely got lost in conversation and lost in time. From that moment I knew he was the one!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

My husband is funny and makes me laugh every single day with out fail.

He has the kindest heart, always seeing the best in everyone around him and helping anyone in need. This could be from helping his dad in the backyard to paying for an elderly mans groceries, he is always thinking about others!

My husband is driven, a goal chaser. In the past 6 years he has worked incredible hard building a property portfolio and starting his own successful business all so that we can have a good future!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at bluebell bridal in Melbourne. I had gone into wedding dress shopping with something completely different in mind, I wanted lace and detail, something strapless maybe. In the midst of all the lace my mum bought over Harper, and said just try it on, you never know. So I did and i was instantly in love. The way the dress sat of my figure was breathtaking and the solid colour gave it the most classic and elegant look. I had already tried on a lot of dresses we had loved but from the second I came out in the Harper my mum, sister, sister in law and friends all said that it was the one!

The MWL pearl veil (I forget her name) was also the most beautiful way to tie the look together!

Who proposed and how?

Our special place is Port Douglas. We have been going there every year, sometimes twice a year, since we met!

The last time we went there, on our last night, he booked an early dinner. I was confused why he booked for 5.30pm but went along with it! Then afterwards we walked to a beautiful lookout we loved as the sun started to set. There he said to me, “I’ve always told you since the day we met that there is only one thing I’d want to change about you, I’m finally ready to tell you what that thing is.” Then he got down on one knee and said “that one thing is your last name, Brooke, will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me”. I cried and of course said yes!

Where did you go to Honeymoon?

We are currently still on our honeymoon! After getting married in Positano, Italy with all closest family and friends, we set off on a four and a half month trip around Europe to see 15 countries. We are currently half way!
