Bridie + Nick

How did you meet?

We met at The Man From Snowy River Bush Festival, an immediate attraction, one you cant forget! But we went on pretending to be friends until a year later! Nick was my uni room mates cousin so our paths crossed again a year later where we hit it off again.

When did you know they were the one?

The place were the ceremony was held, Nick took me there on our first date and we sat on his property overlooking Corryong and he said “I am going to marry you on this spot one day” it was then I think we both fell in love, I sure know I did!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Nick says

  1. She’s my best friend
  2. She is the same person behind closed doors that everybody gets to see
  3. I get to spend the rest of my life loving her

Bridie says

  1. He makes me want to be a better person and I am when I am by his side.
  2. He is my best friend
  3. We both have the same ideas for the future

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I had seen the willow gown online a few times but it was nothing like I had pictured in my head, I wanted slick and straight down but when I visited Bluebell and tried it on I fell in love immediately! It’s layers of tulle fell so elegantly and the stevie bodice was an obvious choice for me as it matched everything floral on the day! I knew I wanted lace sleeves attached as its something I always pictured on my head. I wasn’t too sure how it would all look together but I trusted the MWL team to deliver a beautiful gown and that they did! I matched the gown with the stevie veil. Its all now dry cleaned after all the dust and cow poo and lays in the cupboard! I can’t wait to show my kids one day and I hope they fall in love with it as much as I did.

Who proposed and how?

Nick proposed one rainy afternoon in the paddock by the creek while we were getting wood and checking the oats crop. It was nearly dark and he got down on one knee in the rain and cold on May 8 2018.

Where did you go to Honeymoon?

No we didn’t honeymoon as we had recently moved to broad-acre property Clermont QLD, so a week after the wedding we came back to QLD. But another little add on is I was 15 weeks pregnant at the wedding, we announced it in the speeches and the willow gown hide my little bump perfectly!
