Brianne + Gary

How did you meet?

Gary and I have been friends since high school! Through high school, college, and after we remained friends, catching up over dinner or coffee from time to time. Eventually, things changed! After going on a double date with someone else, and wanting to text Gary the whole time, I expressed confusion to him about feeling that way!! We don’t know when, or how, but marrying your best friend is something so special.

When did you know they were the one?

Teaching in 2020-2021 was very difficult and anxiety inducing with the unknown, in and out of students. With stress and anxiety high, Gary was a constant support, helping with any school work I needed to complete, and finding fun ways to distract me from what was consuming my mind. He not only loved the best parts of me, but the worst parts that came out of me that year.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He is the hardest working man I have met in my life. He is compassionate. He is beyond dedicated to everyone he loves and everything he is passionate about.

Who proposed and how?

Gary proposed in November 27, 2021, Thanksgiving weekend, at our dog’s favorite place to go on walks and run around! Smithville Park is a special place to us and my family, so he surprised me there, giving me a letter all about how he felt about me and our love and popped the question.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Lovely Bride Philadelphia! The staff was a dream, especially as I had no idea what I wanted! The second I put on the Harry my mom and I’s jaws dropped. They dropped further when they put on the detachable train!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The morning of the wedding Gary gave me a huge hug and told me how much he could not wait to marry me. Having that moment, rather than not seeing each other, was so special. Also, our dog, Copper, came for photos after our private vows! This was so special. A moment not with Gary that was everything I could have asked for and more was having my dad walk me down the aisle.

What were your favourite details?

Our ceremony was in the Planetarium in the Franklin Institute museum. This was unreal.

What advice would you tell other brides?

I think most brides would say, but stay in the moment, it can be stressful and nerve-racking but enjoy every single moment of it!

Laura Briggs photography is just a dream. She has a beautiful vision, and makes it come to life. She helped ease our anxiety about photos and made us comfortable. She and Soul Narrative Studios Jordan and Kate were a dream team for photo/video.
