Ashleigh & Stuart
How did you meet?
We met on the first day of a Top Deck tour in Barcelona, Spain in 2012, We became fast friends over our love of beer and we stayed just friends the whole time we were in Europe. I came home from Europe and moved from WA to Sydney and then caught up with Stu once he had returned from Europe and then 6 months later we were together. That was nearly six years ago now!
When did you know they were the one?
Hmm that’s a tough one, from my side I don’t think there was a particular moment, I just knew. It was so easy to be together and no drama and we always had/have fun!
What’s your three favorite attributes of your partner?
- He is insanely chilled out, which helps when I am being not so chilled out haha
- He is the best dad to our son Ted
- He is so easy to love
Who proposed and how?
It was just a normal Sunday and Stu and I went for a walk on Newport headland with our son Ted in the baby carrier (he was 5 months old). We got to a lookout point and nobody happened to be around and Stu said he wanted to take our photo and I turned around and he was on one knee 🙂 the timing was perfect because soon about 5 random people came into the lookout where we were!
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
I fell in love with my amazing Adelyn dress on MWL Instagram page and just knew I had to try it on! My three bridesmaids and my mum all live in WA so I just quietly took myself to the beautiful and relaxing St Ives boutique and tried it on. I knew nothing was going to compare!
Where did you go to Honeymoon?
We ducked off for a night down to Bunker Bay Resort while my mum and dad looked after Ted and that’s about it, back to mum/dad life pretty quickly. BUT we are planning a trip for our one year anniversary!
