Angela + Daniel

How did you meet?

We met in year 12 through friends of friends as he was at the boy’s school and I was at the girl’s school, we were friends for quite a while before he asked me to his year 12 formal and the rest is history! 11 years later we finally said I Do!

When did you know they were the one?

There wasn’t a particular moment, more a lot of things felt right as our relationship went along.
Finding out how many similar interests we had, Seeing him care so much about his family and friends, Being able to talk to him about anything at all, Being able to do nothing at all and still be completely comfortable with each other.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He’s my best friend – no matter what happens, if it’s been a good day or a horrible day I know he is always there for me, to celebrate, help, listen or just a big hug. He doesn’t take life too seriously. He’s always up for a laugh and great at brightening the mood. Whether it’s silly little dances at home, his terrible dad jokes (and he’s not even a dad yet!), making up his own lyrics to songs or trying to sneak up on each other while we work from home. He’s supportive of all my crazy ideas – if its a big holiday or changing jobs to something a bit more risky, he is always behind me and cheering me on

Who proposed and how?

In between the covid lockdowns, we snuck in a trip down to Tasmania, I had no idea Daniel had already designed and had my ring made so wasn’t expecting anything. Halfway through the trip, we went on a hike in wineglass bay up the top of Mount Amos. We got to the top of the mountain and the views were stunning. We took some photos, had some snacks and enjoyed the view. It was starting to get quite cold at the top as it was quite windy and exposed. I was starting to freeze so said we had to go down now. Daniel then said it’s okay I’ll get you my beanie and gloves from my bag and he was on the ground getting out the beanie and gloves out of his backpack and then pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. It was all a bit of a blur after that but the most amazing surprise. It was so perfect and felt very us

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I wasn’t sure what style of dress I wanted going into my dress-shopping journey – after a few stores and not finding anything that felt like me, I visited the MWL Sydney boutique. We had an amazing experience with the team there, I tried on so many styles and every dress felt perfect! Scottie V2 was the first dress I tried on and I tried it on again before we left. I came back for a second visit and putting it on for the second time I knew it was the one – it felt perfectly like me!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment was straight after our ceremony, Daniel and I stayed in our ceremony venue while everyone else was up at the canapés. We opened a bottle of bubbles and just enjoyed a drink to just take in the moment and everything that has just happened! Such a surreal feeling but so glad we took time just the two of us.

What were your favourite details?

Of course, the dress was stunning, and I loved having the overskirt to mix up my look from ceremony to reception.
Our flowers were stunning and complemented both my dress and my bridesmaid’s dresses perfectly.
We had lots of special touches throughout the day made by our family and friends including confetti my Mum hole punched from gum leaves and ceramic name tags for our reception which my mother-in-law made.

What advice would you tell other brides?

At the very start of planning, we sat down and picked the things that were important to us – we wanted a big dance floor and party at the end of the night so organised a great DJ and also had silent disco after the DJ left which was such a hit!
Make sure to spend time with just your husband on the day – have 5 minutes together to just take it all in.
Set up a separate email early on, this was a lifesaver to have all wedding emails in one spot.
And just enjoy it! It all goes by so quickly so take in every moment

Any Standout vendors?

Caroline our florist from Flowers On The Mill was amazing! I has a pretty clear idea of the colours I wanted and Caroline brought it to life perfectly, she was super easy to work with and even grew most of the flowers locally which meant all the blooms were so full and bright on the day.
Blaise Bell our photographer and Josh, Joyride Films both made our day super easy and fun. The photos and videos didn’t feel like a hassle instead just having the best afternoon with our bridal party.
