Amy + Tim

How did you meet?

We matched on Tinder on Valentine’s Day. Tim made a joke about it being romantic and I rolled my eyes! We met up for breakfast the day.

When did you know they were the one?

We had to make some big decisions early in our relationship as Tim was scheduled to move interstate for work. The benefit of meeting in our late 20’s was that by that age, we knew what we were looking for in a partner and recognised early that we had something pretty special.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Tim is very caring and has a strong moral compass. He is extremely hard working. I love his sense of adventure

Who proposed and how?

I love the beach, so one evening on a sunset walk along a quiet beach. Tim proposed by adapting the words from “Brandy (you’re a fine girl)” by Looking Glass “Amy, you’re a fine girl, what a good wife you would be, and I was wondering if you would marry me”

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

All of the MWL dresses are so beautiful. I had a hard time narrowing it down between Harlow v2 and Harry. In the end I chose Harry as she is so classically beautiful, with a simple and timeless elegance.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

So tough to narrow down what was an amazing day. Our family lives interstate so having dear friends and family together was magic.

What were your favourite details?

We chose a stunning venue in the Gold Coast hinterland and so opted for minimal styling to let the venue speak for itself. The native florals for the arbour, bouquets and hanging installation were stunning. I also had a small photo of my late grandfather attached to my bouquet so he would be with me on the day.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Make sure the ceremony and reception reflect you both as a couple, it will help you feel comfortable (particularly if you or your partner don’t like to be the centre of attention).

Also, don’t sweat the small details – most of your guests won’t notice the finer details such as menu font, gift table styling etc.

Any standout vendors?

Our venue – The Bower Estate and their caterers (Ridgeway catering). We got so many compliments on how amazing the food was.
