Amy + Paddy

How did you meet?

Paddy and I met at a mutual friends birthday. The start of our love story didn’t begin there though, as we were friends for 2 years before becoming an offical couple.

When did you know they were the one?

Paddy and I had a weekend away together and went to a musical festival as we both share a big love for music. I remember thinking on the trip that I felt like things were definitely staring to become more than just a friendship. I actually rang my mum on the trip (this story was told during speeches at the wedding) and the conversation went like this. I said to mum “mmmm” and mum said “what?” My response was “I think I really like him…”

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Paddy is so genuine, what you see is exactly what you get. Paddy is so selfless, he goes above and beyond for his family and friends and would never expect anything in return. Paddy is the most determined person I know, once his mind is set on something he will always achieve it.

Who proposed and how?

Paddy proposed to me. We had been together for 6 years and went away to the coast for a holiday. We were sitting on the beach eating seafood when he pulled out his brothers drone and was determined to get a nice photo of us together on the beach. Little did I know that the drone was on record as he asked me to marry him!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I actually fell in love with my dress on Instagram. I saw it on Instagram 4 weeks after we got engaged and I knew it was the one straight away. I organised an appointment at MWL – Melbourne and as soon as I put Harlow on I just knew it was the one.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Walking down the aisle and seeing Paddy for the first time was the best moment for me. Only 3 people (my mum and sister-in-laws) had seen my dress. So I just absolutely loved walking down the aisle and seeing everyone’s reactions. I will never forget Paddy’s face when he saw me…definitely a core memory.

What were your favourite details?

I absolutely loved every single part of Harlow. Something that I really loved was the open back. My one wish for my wedding dress was for it to have an open back, so when I saw the back of Harlow I just fell in love! The lace details and the huge train were also my favourite parts.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Soak up every moment. So many people said this to me before our big day and in my mind it just seemed like the cliché thing to say… but it was so right. The day goes by so fast so don’t forget to stop, look around and soak it all in!

Any standout vendors?

Sarah Carter Photography was absolutely amazing. Our original photographer pulled out 3 weeks before our big day. Sarah came to our rescue and we couldn’t be happier with our photos!

Harrison Slattery Media was also a huge stand out vendor for us! He bought the good vibes and created some incredible footage of our big day.
