Amy + Myles

How did you meet?

Through high school, Myles was the year above me but we introduced ourselves properly on a night out over a year later after we first met.

When did you know they were the one?

I guess there isn’t really a moment you just know they’re the one but when you can feel comfortable being your authentic self, can be in each other’s company without having to say a word, the first person you want to run to to tell the good and the bad news to, and the one you just want to do life with, I’d say that’s a good indication they’re the one.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He makes me laugh every single day with his witty sense of humour
He makes me feel safe and always knows the right thing to say
He always knows a cup of tea is a good start to anything

Who proposed and how?

Myles, on December 10th 2021. On a bright sunny cold December day, at our favourite beach, Wells next the sea, Norfolk. I had no idea and had arranged the weekend as I was doing wedding hair for one of my clients there and suggested we made a weekend of it!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

At the MWL London boutique. It was the only dress I tried on anywhere that fit perfectly. It felt like it was made for me! I knew I wanted a dress that was no frills, modern and classic yet a little bit fun. Oh and comfortable!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Our ceremony. It’s true what they say all your nerves disappear and you don’t notice anyone else around. We had a more intimate ceremony with 40 people, wrote our own vows and one of our friends had written her own reading. It was perfect!

What were your favourite details?

Our venue is simply gorgeous! I knew it would be the one before we even got engaged. I loved that we added colour throughout using gorgeous seasonal pastel yet vibrant flowers, tall candles, photos and more. Most of all we wanted everyone to feel super special on the day too so we kept everything quite small and intimate so we could take our time to speak to everyone and have a more relaxed day. We wanted to be able to spoil our nearest and dearest with lots of good food and a good time! P.s my shoes were probably my favourite!!!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Do what you want to do. It’s true what they say ignore everyone else’s opinions as long as it’s what you want to do. Don’t sweat the small stuff, we kept our decoration simple, don’t over think it! We made a rule about guests, knowing we only wanted a smaller wedding, we only invited people we speak to and see you every few weeks, it helped us to keep our guest list small without any guilt.

Any standout vendors?

I couldn’t recommend any of ours enough! They are now all very special people in our lives. Esther Triffitt, our photographer is just simply magical. Hannah Shearman, our videographer was just gorgeous and barely noticed her there. Farmers florist, Harriet, wow I just knew we would be friends from the start, so lovely and passionate. Rebecca white and Jessica Willerton, hair and makeup duo of dreams! They made me and my Bridal party feel beautiful. We were also very lucky two of my Bridesmaids kindly made our cake and Bridesmaid dresses, they’re both very talented.
