How did you meet?

We knew each other in high school – both claim to have had the biggest crushes on each other, but never really pursued anything. Life happened and we lost touch, but we reconnected on Instagram… he slid into my dm’s and we were inseparable ever since !

When did you know they were the one?

He is my best friend, the person I want to share everything with – good or bad. I knew he was the one almost immediately. During our first disagreement was when I knew without a doubt, because he treated me with respect and kindness, he validated my thoughts and feelings. And instead of this “fight” mentality I had from previous experiences he taught me communication. I just love him more than I can ever even explain!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His heart of gold, his patience and loyalty are among my top favourites. But notable mentions for humour, and being the BEST father.

Who proposed and how?

He proposed to me in our bedroom at 6am because the ring was burning a hole in his pocket and he was bursting with excitement. It was so sweet, I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with Penny at the modern bride in Guelph – I drove 3 hours from my home to the closest MWL stocklist. I went there knowing I’d be leaving a MWL bride. The only designer I tried on. But Penny had my heart when I put her on and felt beautiful and comfortable! My grooms only request in a dress was comfort so I could really enjoy myself on the dance floor!

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

The best moment for me was our first look! It was simple and sweet and although our immediate family was watching everyone disappeared for me and it was really just the 2 of us. We got such a special moment together before the fun!

What were your favourite details?

I loved our venue – my parents backyard it’s where we spend every Sunday and then some, so it’s extra special! I loved our laidback atmosphere, wood fire pizzas, endless white claws and of course our claw girl!

What advice would you tell other brides?

I would definitely tell other brides to plan time with your groom – you don’t realize how many different directions you get pulled in. We had a small wedding so spending time was much easier but we made an effort to be together!

Any standout vendors?

Vito’s did our food and the had a wood fire oven to make fresh pizzas! It was fantastic! They went above and beyond, offering everyone personal take home pizzas !!
