Alicia + Daniel
I am grateful I got to wear one of your beautiful gowns for my big day! I knew the moment that I tried it on that it was the one and have been in love ever since. It made me feel so special and confident to walk down the aisle and marry the love of my life.
How did you meet?
Daniel and I met through a mutual friend at his housewarming party and went on our first date 2 weeks before I went traveling around Europe for 4 months. Even though he knew I was going away he continued to message me the entire time and we knew that we wanted to be together when I got back. I ended up coming home 2 weeks early to surprise him and we have been inseparable ever since. It was then that I knew he was the one.
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
- His huge heart, he loves me so much and I feel the love from him every day
- His easy-going nature and ability to make me feel relaxed and comfortable
- His support and drive in everything he or I do
Who proposed and how?
He proposed to me in June 2019 when we were traveling in Europe. We had treated ourselves to an amazing Hotel in Valdemossa, Spain. We had been on the most amazing holiday and then spent the day exploring this beautiful old town and enjoying the stunning hotel and ended up having the most romantic dinner surrounded by incredible views and candlelight. The waiter bought out the desert and a bunch of roses and put it in front of me, Daniel grabbed the ring box and got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. We have never felt more love! It was beautiful.
What was the best moment for you at the wedding?
The best moment for me at my wedding would have to be all the amazing love that we felt. Daniel and I took a moment after our family had made amazing speech’s as our Espresso Martini bar had gone up and looked at each other to say “this has been the most amazing day of our lives” everything surpassed our expectations, and everyone was all together having so much fun. We couldn’t have been luckier if we tried.
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
I fell in love with my dress at Brides by Design in Perth. The staff asked me when I went into the store if I had my eye on any dresses. It was the third store I had visited but the dress I was most excited to try on. I mentioned I wanted to try on the Zylah dress and we put it on first so I wouldn’t be waiting till the end for the one I was most in love with. As soon as I put it on and walked out to show my mum and my sister there was no doubt this would be my dress. Once the veil was on it was a done deal!!
What surprised you most at or about your wedding?
What surprised me most about my wedding was how seamless everything went. I had heard so many horror stories and people who said how stressed they were but everything went to plan better than we could have ever expected. I felt so relaxed the entire time and if something changed from our original plans I just went with the flow and it ended up turning out better than the original plan.
What advice would you tell other brides?
My advice to other brides would be to go with your gut. Book who you want, don’t over complicate things. If you are confident with your choices everything will fall into place and be so much less hassle on the day and in the lead-up. I was so happy with all my vendors and they made the process stress-free!!
What was one thing you did differently for your wedding?
The one thing we did differently (although we tried to do a few, this was my favourite) was a mixed line up during our ceremony. Daniel had 6 groomsmen and I had 4 bridesmaids, so we had 2 girls on each side and a boy in between. We thought this was a really good way of showing us all coming together as a family and that we are such a big part of each other’s lives. It visually looked amazing and also was so beautiful to see the groomsmen support the bridesmaids at the end of the aisle.
