How did you meet?

We met at a bar in downtown Cincinnati called Holy Grail. After helping my brother propose to his wife earlier that day I decided to head downtown to meet up with some friends. We both are fans of Ohio State football and there was a game on that day, so he yelled across the bar “OH” and I replied with “IO”. He was actually at a bachelor party at the time and one of his good friends decided to introduce us with fireball shots! We have been together ever since!

When did you know they were the one?

It didn’t take long before I knew he was the one. Besides having so much in common I think I officially knew he was the one after I met his family & friends, we all get along so well it was just easy.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner

He is a great friend, hard working and has a great sense of humor.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress before I even saw it in person, I found pictures online prior to going and trying it on. I tried it on at Hyde Park Bridal in Cincinnati, OH and bought it the same day, there was just nothing else like it. I feel like Harlie was made for me and I said if I didn’t get this dress it would haunt my dreams!

Who proposed and how?

He proposed on Fourth of July at his parents house. They always have a big party in their backyard so I didn’t expect it and it was so fun celebrating with all my friends & family. Everyone was able to keep it a secret, I was shocked!

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

Everything was so great so it is hard to choose, but I think the best part was having all my friends & family together in one place.

What surprised you most at or about your wedding?

I was surprised about how fast the day really does go, so enjoy every moment if you can!

What advice would you tell other brides?

The day does go by so fast and there is so much going on that it is easy to get lost in it all. So just enjoy every moment you can, just have fun! I think if you are able to hire a videographer I would so you can go back and watch the day over & over.

What was the one thing you did differently for your wedding?

I created my own ceremony and I thought it was very unique. The music was very important to me, so for the ceremony I was able to pick some non-traditional wedding music, like Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Bob Marley, The Beatles & Elton John. My dad walked me down the aisle to She’s A Rainbow by The Rolling Stones, it was perfect! I had my wedding at an all inclusive venue, called The Bell Event Centre. I also work there as an event coordinator, so it was a very fun experience for me! The venue is an old renovated church from the 1850’s. It is also on the National Register of Historic Buildings, it is just gorgeous
