Alex + Nick

How did you meet?

We met when I was 16, and he was 18. I just finished my junior year of high school and he had just graduated. Our mutual friends were dating and 13 years later… the rest is history!

When did you know they were the one?

I knew he was the one when I went off to college and he was back on our hometown and we still made it work! He would drive down a couple hours to see me intermittently, but also let me enjoy college life with my friends! We have had two very different paths in life but always remained connected!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

My favorite attributes are his creativity and ability to fix or solve absolutely anything! I love his selflessness and genuine nature. He keeps me laughing every single day.

Who proposed and how?

Nick proposed to me in our home. I was getting ready for a (what I thought) was a regular date night, makeup half done and sweatpants still on! It was simple and beautiful.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at Vows in Watertown MA. It was completely different that what I thought I would choose, but I felt like a real bride when I put it on! I felt feminine and confident.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The biggest moment was the time Nick and I were alone running around the beach like little kids!

What were your favourite details?

My favorite detail was the simplistic beauty of the day. We were at a beach house on our favorite beach. It was an intimate, relaxed evening surrounded by less than 50 of our favorite people. We had dinner listening to the waves the ocean and it couldn’t have been more beautiful.

What advice would you tell other brides?

I would tell other brides to do exactly what you want! It’s easy to listen too heavily to others’ opinions and spend time worrying about impressing. This is your day and do what you feel good doing. I had booked a venue and was going to go the more traditional route, but woke up one morning and realized that wasn’t what I wanted and decided to do something that felt more like “us”.
