How did you meet?
Our story starts ten years ago… or nine… depending on which one of us you ask ;). A junior in high school and a freshman in college, nobody expected the relationship to get very far. The story continues with two years of long distance, two years together at the best place on earth (Virginia Tech of course), and another two years apart… It was not always an easy journey. Our story has had so many ups, a few downs, and a lot of driving on route 81. Now, ten… or nine… years, a dog, and two houses later, Garrett (FINALLY) down down on one knee, back in our favorite place, and we agreed to spend forever together!
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
I followed MWL on Instagram for a long time knowing that that you were my favorite designer. I got to try on several MWL dresses at the Lovely Bride in DC and fell in love with the Scottie V2! The unique embroidery and the way it felt elegant and sexy at the same time sold me!
What was the best moment for you at your wedding?Â
The best moment at our wedding was the first look. Seeing Garrett break down when he saw me and just taking that moment to ourselves before standing in front of everyone else, was a feeling we will never forget!
What advice would you tell other brides?
Everyone tells you that the day goes fast, and they are not lying. It goes by in the blink of an eye, so the advice I have for other brides is to do the sweetheart table at your dinner, and truly sit there, enjoy the food, enjoy each other, and take the time to look around the room at all of the people who love you and are there to celebrate your love! It is the only time of the whole day you get to do that!
