Alex + Cameron

How did you meet?

Cam and I met about 6 years ago at work. We worked alongside each other managing a hotel and from there we bonded over a dislike for our job and food.

When did you know they were the one?

I don’t think there was a particular moment, as cliche as it sounds we became incredible friends first, and then love blossomed from there. There was always attraction though. The late-night, after-work complaint sessions at the only 24-hour bakery in town were probably the reason.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

I absolutely adore Cam, he is beyond caring, smart, and funny (tries to be anyway).

Who proposed and how?

Cam proposed to me on a holiday on the Gold Coast. Initially, we were meant to be heading to Sydney but Covid threw a spanner in the works the day before and we changed our plans very last minute. Although it wasn’t the proposal he had planned it was still absolutely perfect, on our hotel room balcony overlooking the ocean, at sunset and with champagne in hand.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I initially saw Ryder on Instagram and fell in love with the dress and the brand, I just had to go and try them all on. The delicate, fitted, sexy style was exactly what I wanted. I went to Adelaide Bridal Collective and tried on a few dresses with Ryder or Harlow in mind. A few weeks later I re-visited and saw Elsie and it was there I knew she was the one.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The ceremony! I was so nervous to stand in front of everyone and declare my love but this turned out to be my favorite part of the day. It was such a relief walking down the aisle and standing with the person you love, the stress disappeared immediately and it was almost like a reality check of what we had been working towards and planning for over the last 12 months. It was so special.

What were your favourite details?

The flowers, specifically the bouquets – I absolutely loved them, so bright and colourful.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Be present in the moment and take some alone time with your new husband/wife to just have a drink and chat together. It will make all the difference on the day.
Also write a list of all the people you want to have photos with and give it to the photographer so no-one gets missed (don’t forget photos with siblings like I did)
