Adelyn + Nate

How did you meet?

I was a server at a brewery two blocks from his house and he became a regular! We instantly had crushes on each other and 6 years later… we got married at that brewery and did our first look where we first saw each other.

When did you know they were the one?

When he pushed my car out of two feet of snow and fell flat on his face. He popped up with snow all over his beard and I knew I loved him and needed to tell him!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His loyalty, his sweetness, and how hard he loves his people!

Who proposed and how?

He proposed to me on his mom’s birthday when we went to visit her grave. He proposed with my ring, which uses the diamond his dad wore as a pinky ring (he has also passed). He said “if my mom were here right now, she’d say “get on with it Nate”” and got down on one knee. It was so, so special.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Vows Bridal! I saw the Ryder on Instagram and knew I had to try it on. I saw Vows carried MWL and knew that needed to be my first appointment. Little did I know, I was going to fall in love with the most perfect dress- LOUIE!!! As soon as I started putting it on, I told the stylist (Mandy) “oh boy, I’m in trouble” because it felt right as soon as I stepped in it!!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

All of it??? It was seriously so special. We could feel the love from everyone, and knew everyone felt the love we had for one another. I might have to say saying our vows to each other was my favorite. It was so special and so US.

What were your favourite details?

This was our venues first wedding- it was so fun and special, even though it was a little (a lot) risky, it was just perfect.
Our dog running down the aisle to us. She was so happy to be a part of our big day! We had Nate’s cousin play a set at cocktail hour for a mini concert, because I love love music but we wanted a DJ for the dance floor. We danced and had so much fun! We also did a walking part of cocktail hour, where we walked from the ceremony site down the hill, passed the house Nate grew up in, and down to the reception spot. We got some awesome pictures! Our first dance was so fun. My poor husband broke his ankle and is not weight bearing, so he was wearing a “peg leg” (iwalk is what it’s called… it’s a crutch less crutch) and he was such a trooper and looked so amazing!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Make your wedding YOURS. Your guests will have so much fun if the wedding screams your story.
