Abbie + Scott
How did you meet?
We met at a roof top bar in Shoreditch, London at a friends birthday
When did you know they were the one?
I knew Scott was the one when we went on our first trip to Geneva and I found myself never wanting it to end and loving every single minute of it.
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
His kindness – he always make sure I’m warm enough, my glass is full and that I always have the what I need. He is the most generous man I have ever met. And finally his ability to fix everything by watching a video on YouTube!
Who proposed and how?
Scott proposed in New York. He had a great plan to propose in Central Park, however I made sure that didn’t happen (accidentally!). We were only in New York for 3 days so I wanted to make the most of it. He suggested we go over and sit down on a bench for a rest and my reply was, ‘I don’t want to sit down! We’ve still got so much of New York to see!’ He said that the ring was burning a hole in his pocket the whole day and finally popped the question when we got back to the hotel room! We then went out to a gorgeous steak restaurant that he had booked to celebrate.
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
After New York, I immediately started researching wedding dresses online. I came across the MWL Instagram and knew my wedding dress would be from there. I fell love with the aesthetic. I went to the London boutique with my mum and bridesmaid and tried on a few dresses. As soon I put on River with tulle I felt a million dollars! My mum loved it too which was the cherry on top. Afterwards I couldn’t stop thinking about the dress but it was lockdown so I didn’t think I could try it on again. The lovely girls at MWL sent me the dress in the post and I had a virtual try on with Cristina on zoom. She was so lovely and I said yes to the dress on zoom in my bedroom on my own! Something I will never forget.
What was the best moment for you at the wedding?
The best part of our wedding was walking down the aisle to meet my husband. It was all such a blur and I don’t even remember seeing anyone except from Scott. On my way down the aisle I stopped to give my chihuahua a kiss which everyone laughed at! Scott’s face was beaming and I couldn’t wait to marry him!
What were your favourite details?
The flowered were by far the best part of the styling. They were gorgeous. When my bouquet was dropped off in the morning it set me off and I was in tears of happiness. I also loved out vintage fiat 500 wedding car that took us to Bibury for some shots in Arlington row.
What advice would you tell other brides?
Enjoy every moment and don’t drink too much Prosecco!
Any standout vendors?
All of our suppliers were amazing. Massive shout out to our photographer Nataly, videographer Roo and our fiat 500 driver Amy. The staff at the barn were amazing too, and the florist, Christiane absolutely smashed it.
