Alexandra + Jacob

How did you meet?

We met in 7th grade about 14 years ago. We became best friends a few years later and were inseparable ever since. We started dating in high school.

How did you know he was the one?

Pretty soon after we started dating. He was the perfect person for me, and my best friend.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His patience, caring nature, and ambition.

Who proposed and how?

Jacob proposed on August 10th, 2018, on a sail boat, in St Augustine, Florida. Afterwards we went on a sunset sail with our closest friends, who were hiding below deck at the time of the proposal ( I had no idea!), and celebrated.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

At the White Magnolia, in Jacksonville, Florida. I saw it a few weeks earlier at a “Sip and See” there and I know it was going to be the first dress I wanted to try on. I immediately fell in love with the long and gorgeous train. It was absolutely beautiful and it had the perfect elegant and sophisticated feel I knew I wanted.

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

Jacob and I walking down the aisle together after we were married. It’s also one of my favorite pictures.

What surprised you most at or about your wedding?

Stop to take it all in after the ceremony. Don’t sweat the small stuff, things work out and no one will notice the small detail that might be missing, everyone will be having too much fun.

What advice would you tell other brides?

After we selected our wedding date and time, I realized it was going to be pretty dark at the time of our outdoor ceremony. At first I freaked out because the pictures were going to be too dark and no one would be able to see well enough. However I quickly embraced it and realized it would be something special. We had lights strung over our guests and our beautiful venue had trees lite for Christmas. It ended up being so romantic, getting married in the dark, under the lights.
