Anne + Trevin

How did you meet?

We met in Saskatoon, SK, Canada at work. Trevin worked for a construction management company and I was working at an architecture firm when I was home on summer break from my masters program.

Trevin came into the office to meet with a colleague of mine and I remember thinking – who IS this guy. We bumped into each other one more time at work that summer, but never was in more contact.

The following summer I returned to my position as an intern. My company was attending a fundraiser event and we met at a bar for some drinks ahead of time. When I arrived at the cocktail bar, to my surprise, Trevin was there with colleagues of his.

Out of available seats, Trevin made room on his oversized lounge chair and we chatted away for an hour or so until it was time to leave. As half of the party walked to the nearby event, the other half – including Trevin stayed at the bar.

While at the event I had realized I was missing my credit card and walked back to my car to see if I had dropped it. While walking, Trevin spotted me as he was outside for a moment talking on his phone. He ran over to meet me, offered to help me look, and walked me the rest of the way.

I remember when I returned to the event, all I could think about was him! After the party had come to an end, I was told the rest of the group was still out and wanted us to meet them. We met up once again and Trevin got up and came to sit next to me.. and well, the rest is history!

When did you know they were the one?

Almost immediately. Trevin blew me away with how attentive, caring, and generous he was. He made me feel safe, and loved. It was like no one else existed for each other but us.

I had two more semesters of grad school left and worst of all – it was Barcelona, Spain for 3 months, followed by Calgary, AB for the remaining term. So after 3 months of dating, I packed up and we were long distance! I was worried at first, but Trevin was incredible at finding time each day to FaceTime at odd hours due to the time change. Although we were apart, emotionally we were closer then ever.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

There are so many reasons I fell, and continue to fall for Trevin. He is extremely driven, from tackling house projects to starting a new company in a new city. He is honest, loyal, and my best friend.

Trevin protects and takes care of me. The little things he does on a day to day basis blow me away and inspire me to be a better partner.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

My mother and sisters came into town and we had only one day to shop! We went to two bridal stores and I tried on my dress at Novelle in Edmonton, AB at our last stop of the day.

I actually had a hard time deciding between three different Made With Love styles – Isla, Harlie, and Danni. Ultimately I kept coming back to Danni for its dramatic back and straps that made me feel like I could dance the night away.

Who proposed and how?

So long story short – after moving back to Saskatoon, SK once I finished school, I landed a job as an architect, we bought a house and renovated it! During the renovation process, Trevin got an amazing opportunity to start a new company in Edmonton, AB.

After selling our home, we packed up and moved to Edmonton. Shortly following the move, I came home on a Friday from work to Trevin in the living room with flowers and the ring! I couldn’t have asked for a more intimate proposal that was totally our style.

Where did you go to Honeymoon?

We had a destination wedding on the Big Island, Hawaii, and stayed to spend time with our family and friends for a few days following.

We then traveled to Kauai for our honeymoon and stayed at an oceanfront Airbnb. We spent the majority of our time on the beach and eating amazing food..
