Megan + Jeff

How did you meet?

Jeff and I met at a wedding, actually. We had a mutual close friend, Rob, who brought me to a wedding as his plus one (with the intention of introducing the two of us). Jeff walked into the room wearing a Boba Fett helmet, and from that weekend on, we’ve been together ever since. At our wedding, it all went full circle, when Rob was our best man.

When did you know they were the one?

Neither of us were in a huge rush when we first started dating. It actually took us a year to say “I love you.” But, I think once that happened, we both just knew. It’s been smooth sailing ever since then and we truly complete and complement each other in the best ways.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Jeff is loyal, selfless and funny. He may seem easy-going to most, but if it came down to it, he would defend me to the death. And, that’s the kind of partner you want by your side. He also will do anything for anyone. Family or friends, if you need him, he is there for you. And finally, every day with him, I get to laugh. He knows how to easily bring a smile to my face.

Who proposed and how?

Jeff proposed to me on November 6, 2020 in Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, PA. He knew I thought he wasn’t going to be able to surprise me, but he pulled it off. I thought we were going into Philly to celebrate the last day of his best friend’s job. When we got into the city, we walked around Rittenhouse until we found a bench to sit at. There he got down on one knee and popped the question, as the passers-by cheered.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at Lovely Bride Philly. I was actually pretty overwhelmed going there because I didn’t know designers well, and you had to pick dresses to try on in advance. I had tried on a few beaded gowns, and most of them weren’t comfortable. When they came in with Ryder, it was just so unique — I HAD to try it on. And, from then on, it was the dress I just couldn’t stop thinking about.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Every moment was the best moment. When people say that your wedding is the best day of your life, they are not lying. Every moment was truly filled with joy, and I wouldn’t be able to pick just one. But what I will say, is I LOVED seeing him FINALLY in a ring and knowing that this amazing man was finally mine.

What were your favourite details?

Our florals. Our friend Cloe, at Foraged Ferns florals did an absolutely incredible job. She took to heart all the little details and went above and beyond. We didn’t do a ton of other decorating besides florals and candles, and we got so many compliments.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Enjoy every moment of your day and try not to get caught up in the little planning dilemmas. When it comes down to it, you won’t even care about the little details or things that are not “perfect” on your day.

Any standout vendors?

Honestly, we loved all our vendors, but big shout out to Foraged Ferns florals, Ryan Sands Photography, Airbrush Artistry and DJ Pat Ryan. They all went above and beyond to make our day perfect.
