Stephanie + Chris

How did you meet?

We met through a mutual friend who set us up on a blind date, we went to a music concert and it was the best date I’ve ever been on. We immediately had a spark and had the best night ever dancing away and signing like we’d known each other our whole lives.

When did you know they were the one?

Really early on, maybe our 3rd or 4th date. We were in a bar talking about our families, listening to him speak and how much he loved them made me realise just how similar we were and how much of a good guy he was.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Choosing only three is tough. But my favourites have to be how kind he is, how much he cares and how thoughtful he is.

Who proposed and how?

Chris proposed while we were on holiday in Mykonos. I’m a serious planner when it comes to holidays and I had a full itinerary for every day. The only night we had nothing booked was the night we planned to try some local Greek gyros in Mykonos town. I put on my most causal outfit, tied back my hair and didn’t bother doing my make up. But on the way into town we stopped at our favourite sunset spot, where Chris got down on one knee and proposed. I had no idea it was going to happen, it was the best surprise ever. It’s safe to say the Greek gyros never happened!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I feel in love with my dress at Marrime Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne. I really struggled to find a dress which ticked all my boxes, but the moment I saw Harlow I knew it was the one. The fitted silhouette, intricate fabric detailing and low back design made it the perfect dress for me.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment for me was sitting down on the top table at our reception next to my new husband and seeing all our friends and family having the best time ever. After all the planning, delayed dates and uncertainty, it was a truly magical feeling to see how it all came together perfectly.

What were your favorite details?

My favourite details were our outdoor drinks reception in the walled garden, our hanging floral bomb which hung above the top table in the fig house and our classic Morris Miner car which my Dad drove me and him to the ceremony in.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Plan the day around you both and who you are as a couple, don’t worry about too much about pleasing your guests… they will have fun no matter what.
