Rylee + Jake
How did you meet?
We met while Blake was visiting his brother in Denver. We were at the same St. Patrick’s Day celebration all weekend long and hit it off from the beginning. We spent the whole weekend together. Then Blake had to go back to Arizona, where he was living at the time. We knew we had something special so many plane rides later, Blake decided to make the move to Denver!
When did you know they were the one?
I knew Blake was the one when everything he did was different than anything I had ever experienced. He invited me to meet his entire family super early on, knowing how much family meant to both of us. When I was there meeting everyone from his dad to his grandma, and nieces, I saw the way he played with his nieces, being a teacher, melted my heart, and while at a large family event, he still made me feel like his priority.
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
His huge heart, his dance skills, and his positivity.
Who proposed and how?
He did! He took me back to our first vacation together, just the two of us, La Jolla. We were on our way to dinner and we got out to look at the ocean on this cliff. He popped the question there with photos and drone video to relive the day forever! It was so special!
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
At Rhylan Lang Bridal in Omaha! I knew I wanted something classic and modern and had been eyeing the Ryder crepe for so long, although I did not know if I would like it on me. Then after leaving Rhylan Lang for the first time, I tried a few other stores and basically found myself trying to find Ryder all over again at every store. The fit, fabric and overall look is why I said YES!
What was the best moment for you at your wedding?
There are so many! I think I have to say walking into the reception MARRIED! I also loved our first look and reading our private vows. That was probably the most special time to me where Blake and I got to share our vows, love and a quick cry together.
What were your favourite details?
I was all about the details. I loved our welcome boxes. They were so true to us. They had our golden doodle, Ivy, on them and our favorite snacks for the weekend. I was also adamant on everything being white on white and all my signage turned out perfect! Can’t leave out the floral hoop either – I was obsessed!
What advice would you tell other brides?
Do what you want to do! I mean it! There were some untraditional things we wanted to do, or traditions we wanted to leave out because they didn’t make sense to us and we are so happy we did!
Any standout vendors?
Honestly ALL of them! They were amazing!
